computer won't start up
« on: December 27, 2016, 04:14:55 pm »
My son got a new computer for Christmas. He got it up and running, but after he tried to connect his headphones which came with the computer, it won't start up. It keeps alternating between the startup screen and a blank screen. HELP PLEASE

HI Tracy,
We are going to need more information in order to try assist you.

Did your son get a motherboard or buy a new prebuilt computer?

We need to know what model (was purchased) or what components he assembled?

And when you say alternates between start screen and blank screen... What exactly are you referring to?  Computer POST screen, a splash screen or windows?

Plugging in headphones to a USB or audio connector on a PC shouldn't normally cause it not to boot.  Providing more information may help us to identify the problem.
