GA-P31-ES3G, bad sound after CPU change
« on: May 02, 2017, 05:32:54 pm »
GA - P31-ES3G with BIOS - F6
2 x 1GB OCZ PC2-6400 (400 MHz) Memory
ATI Radeon HD 6450 Graphics
1 x 250GB HDD with Win XP 32bit
1 x 1TB HDD with Win 10 64 bit
1 x SONY DVD RW DRU-190S
EVGA 430 Watt PSU
After replacing an E5200 with a Q9450 (both on the approved CPU list) i am getting bad sound and graphics, this happens on both XP and 10.
It is very bad when streaming video from the web or tv from a usb tuner. WMP is good. VLC has good sound but lines on picture when playing MP4s
I have re-flashed the bios and have used both fail-safe and optimal defaults.
The memory tests ok with the Win 10 memory test.
Anyone any ideas
