0x80300001 error.....!? :-\
« on: May 20, 2017, 10:44:12 pm »
Hi all, need help with this error 0x80300001 while trying to install windows 10 64 bit. Let's get the build spec out of the way....

MB:GA-Z270X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) Bios F5
CPU: I7 6700K Default speed
Memory:Dominator® Platinum Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz C15 Memory Kit (CMD32GX4M4A2666C15) XMP profile 2
GPU:  GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4G
Main boot hard drives: 950 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD 256GB X 2 drives
Vantec 2-Port SATA II 300 PCIe Host Card with RAID (UGT-ST420R), which has 2 Samsung 850 PRO SATA III 2.5inch SSD 512GB
on board got 2 WD Red 2TB NAS Desktop Hard Disk Drive - Intellipower SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch
Asus BW-16D1HT PRO
 16X Blu-ray Disc Drive

My problem is when trying to do a clean install of windows 10, i see my drive volume ( my 2 M.2 setup in raid mode by bios) but won't let me
install with error code 0x80300001. Now my bios was properly set up and in Raid mode. so i did google it and comes down to two main things. First if you installed raid drivers (during windows installation ) with a disk, you get that error code 0x80300001 because windows disk isn't in dvd drive. I booted those drivers with a usb stick and haven't taken my windows cd out. Seconde thing i found is because in Bios boot order isn't config to put those boot drive in first order. So i went back to my bios setup, the thing is when i'm setup up in RAID mode, boot option disappear. ??? Don,t know why. If i setup board not in RAID mode, i can see in bios my boot order options. Plz help me.

This happen because i wanted to test a board Gigabyte had sent me. Which didn't work so i reset-up with my Z270 board. Before trying switching boards, Raid was working no problem. Windows was installed on both M.2 drives.
If it runs ok, leave it alone!!
