Kinect v2 with X99 ud4 not working
« on: July 22, 2018, 02:16:34 pm »
If anyone can help let me know. Apparantly the GA X99 UD4 has the right motherboard controller chipset. If i connect the Kinect to an old laptop running win 7, it is detected through usb and powers up the fan but obviously wont run on win 7.
I then connect it to my Ga X99 ud4 running win10 and usb detects nothing at all and no power to kinect. Has anyone used a modded kinect with GA X99 ud4?? If so did it work?

I have an Xbox One S but do not use Kinect v2.  They can be fun.  Since WebCams are now naively supported by XBox since the Nov. '17 update, I don't know how hard MS is trying for PC compatibility.  I don't think you have to mod anything.

Kinect v2 is officially dead so there will be no further support. The Kinect v2 has to be modded to connect to a pc which I have done. According to MS the Kinect v2 needs win 10 with USB 3 and a USB controller with Intel or renases chip for it to work. According to the specs of my ga x99 ud4 motherboard, the USB is compatible with these requirement's.  However after installing the sdk 2 and connecting the kinect, nothing happens. Even device manager fails to see it or detect a USB connection. If I connect my Kinect to my laptop the USB detects it and the fan starts on the kinect itself. Don't know why nothing is happening on my X99 board. :-\
