Question about Cpu Voltage on GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 | ASAP

Hi guys, i was ready to buy a GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 but just before ordering i read a strange comment about this board and i have two questions.

I would like to know how the board works in two different scenario.
1) Default Freq - Auto voltage with a +/- offset Using Amd Cool'n quiet, will the cpu freq and Cpu v-core drop during idle ? Right
2) Oc - Voltage with an offset and Same question, will the cpu freq and the v-core lower themself during idle ?

The answer to your questions are..

1. Yes.  The core frequency and v-core should drop at idle load.  How much can depend on the CPU, memory kit and BIOS rev being used.

2. This is a little more unpredictable.  In addition to the factors I mentioned above, the BIOS rev is the largest contributing factor here.  Each processor has a different range of Low Power P States.  Idle stepping and v-core will depend largely on the amount of the OC and control programmed into the BIOS rev being used.  Hope that helps with your questions.

1. On default you have no set voltage and frequency. Voltage and frequency will see saw. It will go down on idle but due to xfr the voltage might go past the defaults. On my G5 and 1600 the voltage on default were going as high as 1.4 v! Though you can amend that using Windows power plan settings - > processor state settings.
2. On manual it will remain fixed. Whatever you set will remain as is. This would probably consume more power but will not feed voltage greater than what you have set. Won't go down either.

Again these are the findings from my own G5 MOBO. Assume it should be same for AB350
