GA-X79-UD3 1.0 and Gtx 1060 6GB
« on: June 28, 2017, 10:01:31 am »
Hello! I have an urgent need to install my new Gigabyte Gtx 1060 6GB video card on the Motherboard GA-X79-UD3 Rev.1.0.
I've always bought Gigabyte products because they are considered great products. In fact, in my office I have many other motherboards and video cards of the same brand.
The urgency arises from the fact that they are about to return the video card via Amazon's restitution procedure.
With the new video card inserted, it fails to make a proper boot.
I found out I had an old bios dated 2012, but I can not update it.
Downloaded the latest Bios stable F20 from the site, but with the Q-Flash tool tells me that the Bios is outdated and contact Gigabyte support. (Ie online support is not working at this time, busy message, try it later).
With the @BIOS utility it is not possible because it is incompatible with windows 10 (in fact it is not installed)
I have not tried updating through DOS yet.
At this point I ask for help because I'm afraid to update the bios with the risk of having problems with the current working configuration. (Gigabyte video adapter Gtx 750). I would like to know if this video card is incompatible with my motherboard.
Thanks for any reply.
Greetings
