Wow, can't wait to get my hands on one of these!
I can't find ANY online retailers selling these yet, except a couple on EBay, but they've only got the T1000X with the N450 processor (so at least I know they're out there... somewhere...?)
I'm holding out for the N470 option though - in either the T1000X or the T1000P. Unfortunately the "Where to buy" links on all of the Gigabyte websites (.co.uk, .com. .com.au, take your pick) don't seem to lead to any retailers anywhere in the WORLD who are currently selling either of these! :(Even though EBay sellers have already got hold of the first one somehow.
Any idea when the T1000X/S with the N470, or the T1000P/M, will hit the stores properly?
I'm way out in Australia in the middle of the desert so I don't expect to see it appearing on the counter of my local IT shop anytime soon... but being able to buy it online would be nice :)

Hey zyph,
thx for your message  :)

Gigabyte Notebook business is very new to GIGABYTE and we only starting to target countries, like Australia, now.

Although I realise that this may take some time, we hope to get things moving forward real soon.
Maybe you can speak to a local Distribuotr/Reseller who already sells Gigabyte products and get them to order some units   ;)

These units are available to sell and we ready to ship them out!

Awesome! I asked a whole bunch of online retailers who were already selling the T1028 whether they could get one of the T1000X or T1000Ps in, and just got a flat "no" from everyone at first, but eventually found one based in Taiwan who said yes, no problem :) So I now have a T1000P on order from them and can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the info!

Where did you end up ordering from? I'm in a similar position to you, hoping to get hold of one of these before leaving Australia in about a month.

Well my little T1000P arrived a while ago now and I couldn't be happier with it. It's perfect for what I need - essentially a little pc I can take anywhere, anytime, and do normal work on, without lugging around a giant brick or even needing a laptop case (it fits in my handbag!)

I purchased it from seller Computer_Camp via eBay. Not sure whether they have a private online storefront or not but I certainly didn't have any hassles via their ebay interface. And the T1000P product itself, of course, is excellent :)

I ordered it with the 2GB RAM option and the 3.5G module, and also bought both the 4-cell and the 6-cell batteries so I have the option depending on what I'm doing. (The 4-cell is lightweight and sits flush with the case, but has a shorter life, whereas the 6-cell is heavier and sticks out a few cm at the back, but lasts longer out on the road if I'm going off the grid for a while)

I only have one tiny niggle. I'd like to use the Smart Charge / Sleep & Charge function to charge USB devices (like my mobile phone) when the netbook is turned Off and unplugged from power; however when this is the case, charging only works while I'm holding in the Function Key button on the left side of the netbook case. (Charging works fine while while the laptop is plugged into power, but I need it to work when I'm nowhere near a power point!)

The manual says:
"The GIGABYTE Smart Charge allows you  to charge your digital
devices through USB ports while the computer is in the sleep mode.
When your computer  is powered  through an AC adapter by direct
AC power supply, you will be able  to use Smart Charge when  the
computer  is  in Off/Sleep/Hibernation mode. However,  if  the battery
pack is the sole power supply for your computer, Smart Charge only
works in Off/Hibernation mode."

The rest works fine, but I just can't find any way to get it to charge a device while the netbook's turned off and unplugged, aside from holding in that button!  I'm sure it's not designed to make you sit there and hold the button in for hours :P There's probably a really simple solution I'm missing. RuiPereira do you have any ideas there?

Quick update on the Smart Charge thing: I've done some more testing, and I think they've just stated it wrong in the manual :P

On AC power, Smart Charge works in Off/Sleep/Hibernation modes, as the manual says.
On battery, Smart Charge works in both Sleep & Hibernation modes, but not Off mode (unless you hold in that Function Key button!) which is not what the manual says.

(Unless my particular netbook is just a weird one or has some wires crossed!)

Thats OK, I'm happy to just put the netbook into Sleep mode if I need to charge something! But if the above findings are correct, perhaps you could let your doco guys know so they can update the manual :) It had me pretty confused for a while.

Any chance of a T1000X being on sale anywhere in the old country (UK)?
Nobody seems to be selling them here.

If the T100p is about to change to the t1000m ....which appears to have a capacitive screen, how will the stylus and handwriting recognition function?  Or will the stylus be dropped from this model?

Anyone have any insight into this?

The best person to ask about this would be RuiPereira.
I suggest you send him a PM here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=2 as he would be the best one to advise you on this.

Yes, I guess I do  :-)

T1000P will change to T1000M (M for Multi-Touch), however, the LCD is not Capacitive, it will remain Resistive
We will introduce a new model, the T1005 around Nov/Dec time.

I will post more details on the T1005 at a later stage, but here are some basic specs:
Intel® Atom™ N550 (Dual Core)
Intel® NM10 Express Chipset with Intel® GMA 3150 VGA
RAM DDRIII SO-DIMM(Max. 2 G)
USB 3.0
Over 5-8+ Hours Battery Life
~1.48kg (w/ 6-cell battery)
** No Express Card & Stylus Pen

I hope this is clear.

Sounds like a nice little machine, if only they would do it with a 30" screen  ;D I would be able to use it.
