Sounds like a nice little machine, if only they would do it with a 30" screen  ;D I would be able to use it.

Oh yeah :-) ... I would love that.

Currently we working on a T1125 (11.6") ULV based Notebook with Multi-Touch (Capacitive), USB3, eSata, HDMI, DDR3, 4x Speakers (THX) with Subwoofer and Docking Station with ODD oh yeah, the T1125N will have nVidia graphics which supports Optimus Tech.
With this around the corner, who cares about the i-PAD - haha

However, we still a bit off your 30"   :P ... maybe when we release the All-in-One !

If the T100p is about to change to the t1000m ....which appears to have a capacitive screen, how will the stylus and handwriting recognition function?  Or will the stylus be dropped from this model?

Anyone have any insight into this?

Yes, I guess I do  :-)

T1000P will change to T1000M (M for Multi-Touch), however, the LCD is not Capacitive, it will remain Resistive
We will introduce a new model, the T1005 around Nov/Dec time.

I will post more details on the T1005 at a later stage, but here are some basic specs:
Intel® Atom™ N550 (Dual Core)
Intel® NM10 Express Chipset with Intel® GMA 3150 VGA
RAM DDRIII SO-DIMM(Max. 2 G)
USB 3.0
Over 5-8+ Hours Battery Life
~1.48kg (w/ 6-cell battery)
** No Express Card & Stylus Pen

I hope this is clear.

The specifications sound great.....provided pen input still works in addition to touch input and handwriting recognition is also still available.
If the capacitive input does rule out pen and handwriting etc, then will there be a resistive multi-touch version of this T1005 as well?
The more the model offers what the iPad does - and the more it offers a different feature set, the more it appeals i would think?

As for the comment about a 30" screen...... wouldn't a tablet/netbook with one of those docking stations and support for a large external screen when docked be a dream!!!  I bet one day there will be one

He already said that the screen would remain Resistive not changing to Capacitive. So no difference with using the pen and I can't see them ruling out handwriting recognition even if they do change screens on the new model when it arrives.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Best of both worlds. ;D

I should have been clearer. I meant what happens with the T1005 which DOES change to a capacitive screen. Does this still support pen and handwriting in some way?

So is that the definitive official answer, the T1005 has no model designed to work with a pen as well as finger?

Not an official answer just my joke.  ;D ;D ;D
I can't see it being a problem though even if they do change to capacitive screens.

Anyone know where I can get the new TouchNotes in the UK?  Checked with Expansys as they are the reseller and got a flat "Unfortunately we do not have any current plans to stock these items".

Considering we are looking to buy 10+ of these for our fleet of service engineers I thought they were very unhelpful!

Any help would be much apreciated..

I missed the 'no pen' first time around.
So if one wants a pen, together with a dual core, it buy a competitor or wait and hope for a true T1000p successor.
Anyone with any insight into whether gigabyte believes the Bill Gates 'no pen' line and is moving entirely to a no pen philosophy ...or if a T1000p successor it to be expected if we wait.

I have been waiting for the T1125 for AGES, can you use your POWER as admin and get them to make at least a 8 cell battery for it, 12 cell would be awesome,. I think that ION chipset will need all the juice it can get, for those long gaming sessions :)

The T1005M will have to do me till the T1125 comes out in a few years or when ever they release it if ever.

Outs.

I'm not reall sure why, but 6-Cell battery seems to be the biggest we offer   :-\
It may be down to price, but maybe I can feedback to HQ and perhaps have other batteries as optional extras  :)
hmmm, I will try, thx for the feedback.
