Benching with the X58A-UD3R

The X58A-UD3R is easily the best-value X58 board out there. Hands down, no question.

Figured i'd take one for a spin for both global and hardware category results.... im not ready to spill the category results yet, but theres a lot of gold ;) This board its pulling its weight, no question.

The global though... lets see what can be down with a reference 5870, a 980x retail and some dry ice....

CPU pot: "Fat Boy" by Otterauge

GPU pot: MousePot Rev4

PSU: Xigmatek 1200W NRP.

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws

3D03: UK single-card No.1, global No.55. Not entirely happy with the score scaling from the CPU point of view but I think thats architecture- related.

3D06: another No.1, global 57... 26 points behind Kingpin!!!! Turbo enabled to get extra MHz for the game tests. They crave the MHz, given this amount of GPU power

3DVantage:... yup.. also a UK No.1. Global 28th. Hit OCP a few times along the way.

3D01: loves Wolfdale still. 3D05: I screwed up somewhere and efficiency is off. AM3: I've not got the hang of ATi + AM3... plus my Uncore is a bit poo.... Still have 355K though (UK single-card No.5)

These are all the single-GPU No.1 spots for the board also ;)

I might have some pics of the rig.
