Please help![BIOS Bootloop] GIGABYTE B75M-D3H rev1.1
« on: November 05, 2017, 07:46:45 pm »
Hi guys. im running a Rev1.1 board but i'm stuck in a bootloop possibly a corrupt bios cause my backup bios does not do much but display a blue screen with an message that says UEFI dual Bios.. It all happend when i switched my SATA config from IDE to AHCI, but windows gave a blue screen and restarted. soon after that i got no post. ive tried clearing the bios to default as instructed but no cigar. The motherboard restarts 4 times till i get a bluescreen post amusing its the backup bios.

When it posts on the 4th try the keyboard does appear to boot but with my keyboard to get into the bios does nothing.

Last update installed was the newest F15.

Any help will be much appreciated.

A few comments / suggestions.

If your board has a PS/2 port, connect a keyboard to it.

When you attempted reset, did you have power to the board disconnected?

Have you tried to invoke boot from the back up BIOS?

Have you attempted to resynchonize the BIOS, using ALT+F10?

Pressing the <End> key during POST might allow you to enter Qflash.  Pressing <F8> within BIOS can load Qflash

Hi Shadow,

This is what happens exactly.. i power it on then it shuts down in a second by itself. it powers back on by itself with NO post for 10 sec then powers back off by itself. 3rd time it powers back on for 2 sec still no post or power to the keyboard in PS/2 or mouse. 4 try it powers back on and i get the blue screen post and power to the mouse and keyboard. I'm trying all the given methods you've provided especially getting in to Q-flash, but it powers down by itself again and so the bootloop cycle goes.

I'm using a PS/2 to USB adapter for the keyboard. [Only gets power on 4th boot]

I unplugged the power supply when reset the BIOS with jumper for 5 min.

When it posts on the 4th i get a quick shot of the boot screen and then the blue screen before it powers down by itself.

As stated previously, if your board has a P/S2 connector, use it.

I just posted a similar response to someone who is having a similar issue.  The same principles apply in your situation.

Boards that do not have BIOS switches can only copy the back up BIOS to the primary chip when it becomes corrupt. You cannot boot from the back up BIOS.

You appear to have serious corruption.  BIOS won't load and you cannot even get to a point of recovery.  Only conventional option I see from here is trying to re-flash the existing BIOS rev from a bootable USB stick.  This may or may not work.  You've already established that recovery from the back up BIOS is impossible.
