X58A UD7 M.I.T bios reset
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:33:38 pm »
 ???

Default M.I.T bios i.e standard .. if i shut down system and leave for a while then switch on i get the Double boot issue just like a bad over clock but the Mit is standard. same issue on F6 and new F7p beta.
the rest of bios settings are fine and not reset , it is just this M.I.T issue and Double boot..
also i just Rmaed Corsair dominator thinking it was Mem and got Dominator gt mem installed, one thing though the XMP profile is 7,7,7,20 but system boots as 7,7,7,23. the 592mhz setting is 8,8,8,22 but system boots as 8,8,8,20. both can be changed to the xmp and Jedec setting and system boots..
temps are fine, even when in windows system runs fine even in games..
no matter what i do i still get a double boot issue from cold.. any idea's bad board?

Hi
I have the same board as you and use the same PSU, Ram and processor and mine runs without this issue. The only thing I can think of to help is that the GTX480 doesn't match the ATX standard(it uses more power than is allowed) so can you try a lower spec card just to rule this out as the cause.

Well this second Ud7 rev 1.0 on F7 bios , i have started to get this Cold boot M.I.T reset again :( , even though everything runs fine Gaming ect , no Blue screens, crash ect .

just updated to F8G beta off the gig site and left Default values for now To see how it goes,  See this is a Massive issue with X58 Mb,s in all makes , will this this Cold boot issue be fixed anytime soon with a bios update ??? , they did with the first release of ud5 F9 onwards and that was just over a year after release.

As you quite rightly say it is something that seems to afect the X58 chipset boards and not just Gigabyte's. What I can't understand though is why it only affects some boards and not others. The UD3Rs seem to be suffering at the moment especially but out of all the ones that have been sold it must still be a small percentage that has problems with it.

I know but I am running a similar setup to you and without any cold boot problem. I shut it down totally every night and no problem in the morning. So what is the difference? ( apart from the fact that I tuck it up with a blanket so it doesn't get cold  ;D )

I do as well, EuP is disabled as wel (had this disabled since the DXX psu as it gave Boot loops)l, also not getting any missing Memory, what Bios are you ruining and clock?

And what SDD corsair model are you running?

Edit: with all theses Hdd's i am running WD RE3 as main, rest are Slaves WD-Black,RE2,Raptor i have the HD delay on "0" would this Cause Cold boot M.I.T issues?
been reading a few threads on here about this HD delay and there adding a few secounds, but i am not getting a Freeze.

I am running at stock setttings apart from the XMP for the Dominators. BIOS F7.

Corsair Perfomance SSD 256 GB.

HDD delay probably wouldn't help in your case but for the trouble of trying it might be just worth a shot. Try 5 or so seconds, should be plenty.

Corsair performance, not looked at that one,

Running stock at moment and no Cold boot issues for the last 2 days, Just thought the Delay may help when overclocked.

try an overclock and see if you do get this cold boot issue.

As a matter of interest while we are trying to find some common ground here does either of you use a UPS system or do either of you totally unplug your systems from the wall?

no Ups here or unplug system mate

i did read though enableing EuP helps this on certain Hardware configs , because the Ioh at 1.24 can cause cold boot with EuP off.
