Just a little concerned, may be nothing but...

I just installed my new PNY gtx 470 and it seems to be sitting flush on the nortthbridge cover. I can not tell for sure with the way my case is, but if the plastic casing of the vid card is touching, is this something to worry over??

The case is as you say "plastic" and thus no electrical shorting is possible.

I doubt there will be a heat issue either.

I own a GTX480 which is hotter than yours, and one I can say is the stock HSF (while just as loud at ATI cards) is very efficient at exhausting air out the rear of the case (my case temps do not rise beyond other high power cards I have used).

If you have a "bottom" fan or a "vga" fan (on drive bays pointing to GPU) that is always helpful, however you should not have any issue if the card is a close fit as you describe.
