GA-H55M-USB3 and gskill F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO DDR3-12800 4gb kit

I got all my parts last week and when I put everything together, I could not get it to POST, no video at all. What's kinda interesting is that if I plug in the keyboard, the caps lock, numlock keys do work after a minute or so.  But since I am not getting any video, I can't tell what is going on.   the gskill is listed as a tested ram on the gigabyte site and that's the reason I bought the eco series instead of some other ones.

When I turn the computer on, it just gives me 1 long beep and what I think that sounds like 2 short beep, but it could be just 1 short beep.  anyhow, I tried swapping out PSU, a different GA-H55M-USB3, I tried resetting the CMOS, tried reseating the core i5 750, tried just 1 stick at a time, nothing seems to work.  unfortunately, I don't have another stick of DDR3 to try, so I am kinda stuck for now.

Any help is much appreciated!  I can't imagine I get 2 sticks of DOA ram, or is the F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO  just not compatible even though the gigabyte says it is.

Right, firstly do you have a PSU that's big enough? It would help if you listed all your components. Have you plugged in all the extra power cables eg EATX, PCIe etc? Post back and we will try and help.

corsair 400W psu and a generic 585W psu. Tried both, and they both gave the same beep errors.
GA-H55M-USB3, tried 2 different boards
2gbx2 gskill F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO DDR3-12800 4gb kit
Intel core i5 750

I unplugged everything else, no sata hdd, no dvd-rw, even unplugged my asus 9500GT GPU.  I am going thru the onboard video card.

With just the PSU, core i5, keyboard, and vga monitor plugged in, I get no video.  Tried 1 stick on the white slot closest to cpu, same results.  if I remove all the ram, I get the continuous short beeps.

The 24pin ATX and 8 pin ATX 12V are both plugged in.

On the face of it the problem seems like the memory even though it is on the QVL. You seem to have covered most of the normal checks already and if it is one long and one short beep when trying to POST then again that would be a memory error. See if you can borrow some other memory to test it with.

yeah, that's what I thought.  but then the beeps sounds more to 1 long, 2 short to me, which is a monitor or video card error.  But then I can't imagine I would get that on 2 separate mobo.  I'll have to go pick up some other ram and see.  Thanx.

Have you tried leaving out the video card and resetting the CMOS and loading BIOS defaults and tried using the onboard vga to boot with? I know that you have tried similar but we need to go back to basics I think and start from there.

already tried that.  That was one of the first thing I tried.  removed the video card and the monitor is plugged into the on board vga port, I even tried the onboard dvi port.  still no video, 1 long beep and short beeps.

I am running out of ideas here so I think the best thing is to go back to the begining. I know it's a hassle but remove everything from your case and rebuild using just the motherboard , processor, ram and psu on the bench outside of the case. Try bootinf from there and see what happens then post back.

Thanx, but I already took everything out. That was one of the first thing I did after it wouldn't boot.  Everything is out of the case and only the psu, keyboard, cpu, 1 stick of ram and onboard vga are plugged in. Tried it with 2 different board when I thought the board might have been DOA, but turns out I got the exact same errors with the second board.

if I remove all the ram, I get the continuous short beeps.  So I thought it might have been a psu problem, so I got another psu and got the same beep.  and I got my hand on another h55m-usb3 and tried that with my 2 psu's and same errors.

Right well that is what youn would expect from having no memory installed . So that is a start. Next install one stick of RAM and reboot.

already tried that. with 1 stick in the white slot closest to cpu, it gives the same long beep, short beeps error.  Tried it on the other white slot also.  Also tried the other stick from the pair and got the same result.

Well I just re-read the whole thread and the conclusion I come up with is that either the processor is faulty or the memoryn is NOT compatible regardless of it being on the QVL. What you decide to do next is your choice. You can either try and test the processor in another board or change the RAM. Let me know what you decide to do.

I just heard back from Gigabyte's official tech support and they said i5 750 does not support onboard video.  So they have asked me to plug my video card back in and try with 1 stick only.  Which surprisingly, it was one of the configuration I never actually attempted.  As soon as I ran into a boot issue, I removed everything and tried with the on board video only.  I'll try that when I get home tonight and see what happens.  Will post the results.
