Windows 10 freezing/crashing with 1050Ti
« on: January 29, 2018, 11:51:22 am »
Hi All,
I'm having serious freezing/crashing problems with my computer. Wondering if anyone is experiencing issues?
PC setup (not overclocked):

Intel Core i7-6850K CPU @ 3.6GHz
32Gb memory
Gigabyte GEFORCE 1050Ti Windforce OC 4G
Motherboard MSI X99 Gaming Pro motherboard
1TB Samsung NVMe SSD 960 Pro M.2
2X Sony 55" monitors
64 bit x64 windows

Note I am using this card for professional work and do not using the card for gaming. I have not overclocked the graphics card or system in ANY way.
Since then I have been having constant problems in Windows 10. I have lots of issues. I have the following issues:
1) Sometimes both the screen turn white so I have to reboot.
2) The mouse pointer constantly seems to hang for a second and then starts working again.
3) Windows keeps hanging many times a day resulting in me having to reboot.

I have tried almost everything including:
1) Updating the bios to the latest version.
2) Using the latest driver from the Gigabyte site.
3) Trying various drivers from the GEFORCE site. Some drivers seem to result in slightly more stability but ultimately the same problems highlighted above come back each time.

I have also tried various fixes on available on youtube:
1) Turning OFF the Link State Power Management
2) Using the Gigabyte XTREME Gaming engine to change the GPU Voltage and fan speed (I did not touch the GPU Clock).

I need some help with this issue ASAP please as I have just got completely fed up with the issues for the last many months!!

Greetings,
There are just too many variables to consider based on your initial post.

A few questions.

-Does the crash occur when you use a specific application, or just happen randomly?
-What is the brand, model and speed of your memory?
-What resolution are your running on the 2x Sony 55" displays?
-What happens if you only run 1 display?
-Have you tried different HDMI cables?
-Are you using any type of cable adapters?
-BIOS update?  For what..  the motherboard or the GPU?
-Do any errors appear in the System Event Viewer (relating to the crashing)?

We may have more questions based on your responses.
