Ridiculous Gigabyte BIOS Publication Policy
« on: April 11, 2018, 07:45:26 am »
Gigabyte recently sent me an e-support ticket including a new BIOS for my GA-Z87-HD3 motherboard for protection against Spectre. Gigabyte said they will not be posting this latest BIOS v9B on their product support web site since it is no longer company policy to publish upgrades for older products!!! They will only issue a BIOS update on request.

Well Gigabyte that is a ridiculous stance. Be advised it is no longer my policy to buy Gigabyte products when you can't be bothered to publish critical BIOS updates.

sc489,
Boards only come with a 3 yr warranty.  After which time they are usually considered EoL.  I realize they can run for many more years, but less popular board don't usually continue to get BIOS updates.  Your board only supports Devils Canyon CPU (which is now 4 yrs old), and the board is over 5 yrs old now.  This is little demand for z87 currently.
