HDD Size Limitations
« on: June 21, 2018, 02:18:14 pm »
Hi All, i own a computer with a GA-297X-Gaming 3 motherboard.
I want to purchase a large 8TB or even 12TB WD Gold Hard Disk, and wanted to make sure this was compatible with the motherboard running windows 10?
I know in the past there was a limitation to 2TB, and wanted to make sure the motherboard would accept this size.
Couldnt see anything limitation in the manual or on the FAQ directly.

thanks in Advance.

Greetings,
Should work.  If in doubt.  Contact Gigabyte to verify hardware support.

If windows, plan to format GPT and use UEFI if you will boot from this drive.  Either way... I recommend you have a second "like" disk to perform back ups with.
