delay before starting up GA-970A-UD3P

after a nightmare getting this board to recognise the drive and windows 7 installation , I was dismayed to find that the PC would take around one and a half minutes to get on the desktop, in and out of the bios dozens of times , trying to think logically and ending up doubting my sanity ,the long delay turned out to be a lexar pro usb3 card reader , that was allways plugged in my older (gigabyte) system without problems. however with the offending card reader removed I get boot times around 25 sec to a fully loaded desktop . but now I have another all be it minor oddity, when I press the start (on) button on the front of the PC , nothing happens for a full four seconds ,then it starts as normal ,now this is not the end of the world and I can live with it ,  but it just seems odd , I have used this case on a couple of my previous PC's and its allways started pretty instantly , with the fans etc bursting into life as soon as I press it .  any one know what is happening , bios are up to date.

Greetings,
Good work solving the card reader issue.

The "power on" issue should be easy to diagnose.  Disconnect the POWER_SW connector from the MB header.  Now carefully jump the two pins using a flathead screw driver.  If the system starts right up, its your switch.
