GA-Z68XP-UD3P (rev. 1.0) and latest Graphic Cards
« on: February 27, 2020, 09:46:24 pm »
Hi Everyone,
My Gigabyte R9 270 Graphics Card has stopped working,  and I have been looking for a replacement, such as Gigabyte Radeon™ RX 570 GAMING 8G. These RX cards have UEFI bios so does that mean they will not work with the current Bios which is version F7?
And if I have to update the Bios to UEFI version,  which Bios utility do I use?

Windows 11 Pro 64bit
Ryzen   7 3700X
GIGABYTE  RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB GAMING OC Pro
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB  (DDR4-3200)
Gigabyte 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe
Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE
Corsair Carbide 175R PC Case

Greetings,
You may not need to update your BIOS to have the 570 work on your machine.

I would try booting with the card first before committing to BIOS upgrade.

You'll either get an error, blank screen or it will boot.

If you determine you need U1G, the exe is a self extracting Zip and includes a utility for flashing.  Use that.

I remember when Gigabyte released U1G for Z68 based boards.  Some loved it, some didn't.  You cannot go back, so see if the card works first with F7 before you upgrade.
