I must admit I hadn't noticed this Pierre as I haven't installed mine. There are two on the back panel so I haven't needed them yet.  It does seem to contravene normal "good practice" though. I don't know if this is done as part of some sort of new "standard" but it does seem to defy sense.

The connector is the "wrong way round" compared to normal plug/ socket combinations. The "live" or power side of the connector has pins(male) and the receiver has the holes(female).

I see... I'm not sure if my UD3R has this feature: "the bracket with 2 * SATA + power for GA-X58A-UD5 or others motherboards"

I don't think that it is supplied with your board. It is an extra connector set that fits into one of the back panel slots and has two eSATA and a power connection.

I have just looked mine out and it is indeed as you say Pierre. It seems and awfully funny(even dangerous) way to design it. I wonder what the thinking was behind having it that way round?

I've just bought one of these boards and they've removed the bracket and there's an added loose page in the manual about it not being there. There is an additional bracket though with no connectors, just a strange angled bracket off it. No idea what ir's for. Board is still revision 1.
Cheers
Martin

Yeah that SATA bracket with the open molex connector is dangerous. Anyways moving to a Cooler Master HAF X case allowed me to get rid of the bracket since the case has built in hot swappable bays :)

BTW did you guys get that SATA bracket with your board (UD-5)? Cause I didn't, I had to call Gigabyte and have it sent to me.

I have the UD7 board and it came with that. It does seem stupid though. Whoever came up with that idea needs their **** kicking.
The HAF X is a nic ecase isn't it. I have the HAF932 and am very pleased with it(especially since I have customised it). It is now black inside as it should have been made and I have replaced the window at the top with a decent one and ripped out all that mesh from the side and put in a matching window there. Plus some other adjustments.  8) 8) 8)
