M.2 running slow after CPU update
« on: April 02, 2021, 06:50:18 pm »
Hi there,

I have the Gigabyte Aorus Pro AX Z490 with the Intel i9 11900K processor that has just been upgraded from the i9 10900F. Since then, my SSD's have gone from 3000mpbs to about 890mbps.

I have done the following;

- Re-installed windows
- Install correct drivers
- Boot is UEFI and partitions are GPT
- Latest bios (F20d) has been installed
- Firmware on SSD's are up to date.
- SSD's are showing as m.2 in my bios (as expected)

My SSD's are;
Western Digital Black SN850
Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus

Any advice?

Cheers :)

Greetings,
WD is theoretically capable of 7000/5300
Sabrent 7100/6600

If a PCIe 4.0 capable board and CPU are used.

Have you tested disk speeds with only the boot drive connected?

Is there something else connected that might be slowing things down?

Any wireless devices?
