upgrade from Z68x-UD3H-B3
« on: July 01, 2021, 09:07:14 am »
Now that windows 11 is coming out I really need to upgrade to a board that supports UEFI, I have the i72600K and GTX 770, what would be my next choice, preferably one that I can keep my DDR 3.

Greetings,
All of your components are at the 10 yr mark.  Investing further in order to retain DDR3 support is not wise.  The ROI is extremely low.

Also, if MS requires TPM 2.0 for W11, you probably won't be able to find a board or add-on TPM.

Its time to upgrade.

yeah you right. I'll stick with windows 10 ( not that I used it much, thanks to Linux) and I'll start a saving fund for a new system

Greetings,
I wasn't sure if your board had a TPM header.  Seems it does.  Right now TPM chips are being hoarded and scaled for egregious prices.  This will change once MS affirms the TPM requirements for W11.

The thing is will Microsoft just let you just use the module. They might want a CPU too that support TPM. We will just have to see what they come up with.
