"BIOS has been reset" message appears every time i boot up ??
« on: September 09, 2021, 02:22:56 pm »
Hey guys :)

I'm running a Gigabyte GA-Z77Z-UD5H mobo and its been super reliable ever since i installed it in 2018.
However , just recently - every time I boot my machine up I get a "BIOS has been reset" message before Win10 starts to load.

I just leave it on the highlighted option of "Load optimized defaults then boot" , press enter and the machine boots up normally.

Why is it doing this ?  What can i do to get rid of it so that my pc goes straight into Win10 like it used to ?

Many thanks

Lee

Greetings,
This can have more than one cause.  When did this start?  What preceded this message.  If you have recently flashed or upgraded your BIOS, let us know.

If you are using a BIOS profile or admin password, delete or disable these features.

Then use F10 to save and restart.

Now enter BIOS again <DEL> and change a settings, any should do.  F10 to save and exit again.  The reset message should not be present on subsequent restart .  Allow the system to boot into windows.  Now restart again from the Start Menu, press <DEL> at POST to enter BIOS, revert the setting you changed and F10 to save again.

Report on the above.

Thanks for your reply . it started a few weeks ago . I have made no changes to the BIOS , hardware or software except for some windows updates - not sure if this is related.

I am not using a BIOS profile ,nor am i using an admin password.

I'll apply your suggested actions and report back. thank you

Had this issue myself and solved it by replacing the motherboard battery.

Weak MB battery.  Yes, absolutely could help.

I've replaced the mobo battery with a brand new one , and also tried making a change to the BIOS settings and then back again, but neither of these actions has got rid of the "BIOS has been reset" message appears every time i boot up .

However , I've now got a more serious (and i strongly suspect - unrelated) problem of my pc not even booting up at all - instead I get a continuous 'beep beep beep beep etc before POST as if I've got a memory failure.

I've created another thread for that issue.

Check and test with another power supply.
