What is a device?
Generally speaking, a computer device is a electronic or electromechanical machine or component of a computer. It aways refers to hardware.

What is a device drivers?

A device driver, on the contrary, always refers to a program (software) normally developed by the hardware manufacturer to allow it to interact with the computer system.

Common device drivers

Motherboard drivers

?Motherboard
It is the main circuit board of your computer and is also known as the mainboard or logic board. If you ever open your computer, the biggest piece of silicon you see is the motherboard. Attached to the motherboard, you'll find the CPU, ROM memory RAM expansion slots, PCI slots, and USB ports. It also includes controllers for devices like the hard drive, DVD drive, keyboard, and mouse. Basically, the motherboard is what makes everything in your computer work together.

Audio card drivers

It is a plug-in card that records and plays back sound and is also called a "sound board" or "audio adapter". Sound circuits are typically built into the chipset on the motherboard and the sound card can provide an input port for a microphone or other sound source and output ports to speakers and amplifiers.
 
Video card drivers

?Video card
It is an important device inside a computer or gaming console also known as “display adapter". Basically, it is a printed circuit board that generates the images for the computer's screen. Games, videos and even surfing the web requires a video card. Moreover, Certain games and other media may require an advanced device.

Network cable or wireless card drivers

?Network cable or wireless card
It is a cable or card that enables groups of interconnected computers and peripherals to share software and hardware resource between many users.

Cd/dvd rom drivers

Cd/dvd rom
It is a read-only DVD disc used to permanently store data files. DVD-ROM discs are widely used to distribute large software applications that exceed the capacity of a CD-ROM disc and are read in DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM drives in computers.

Printer drivers

It is a device that converts computer output into printed images. Printers are sometimes sold with computers, but more frequently are purchased separately. Printers vary in size, speed, sophistication, and cost. In general, more expensive printers are used for higher-resolution color printing.

Keyboard drivers

?Keyboard
It is basically a board of keys. Along with the mouse, the keyboard is one of the primary input devices used with a computer. The keyboard's design comes from the original typewriter keyboards, which arranged letters and numbers in a way that prevented the type-bars from getting jammed when typing quickly.

Mouse drivers

?Mouse
It is a small box-shaped pointing device. When you move it by hand over a flat surface, it generates signals to control the position of a cursor or pointer on a computer display.

Webcam drivers

?Webcam
It is a video camera that attaches to a computer typically via USB or that is built into a laptop or desktop screen. It is widely used for Skype and other videophoning software as well as to continuously monitor an activity and send it to a Web server for public or private viewing.

Yes, I agree. Definitely one for the FAQ section.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
