Buying a 5870 UDV GV-R587UD-1GD or not??

Hi, feels stupid that this should be my first post but I thing this board might be the best place to ask my question.

Im going to buy a 5870 and the gigabyte UDV seems to be my best choice because of these two things:
The powerconnectors are reference 5870, on the top of the pcb and not on the back (side)
Dual fans that should be less loud and more coolness to the gpu.

The thing is when looking at newegg this card seems to have gotten a lot of slapps.. although the reviews seems to praise it.
If I buy the card and it comes with bios F5.. is it safe for me to update it to the F8 bios?

I guess I just want you to say go ahead and buy it.. dont get a xfx :)

Any pros and cons from you guys?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Why is it stupid to make your first post a question? About 95% of first posts are questions ;)

"I guess I just want you to say go ahead and buy it.. dont get a xfx"  OK I said it. Now does that make you feel happier? Firstly the ATI cards are, in my opinion, better than the current crop of nVidia cards. They seem to be more stable and the drivers are definitely better. I have no personal experience with this particular card but the reference design is great. Only I would rip the fan off and watercool it  ;D
