ga-x58a-ud5 rev 1 error
« on: August 06, 2010, 09:36:08 pm »
I have:
ga-x58a-ud5 rev 1
core i7 930
OCZ Reaper HPC 3x2GB, 1600MHz DDR3, CL(6-8-6-24), Heatspreader  [OCZ3RPR1600C6LV6GK]
powercolor eyefinity radeon 5870 2 gb
bequiet 650 W straightpower

I mounted everything, start up and then problems occurred.
first monitor won't start is always on standby. on the motherboard it is C1 post and halts on it.
I try another graphic card (nvidia 9600GT)  nothing changing.
from my friend I have  different  RAM corsair 1333 MHZ when I put them the build starts booting and showing post FF but still the monitor won't start no mater what graphic card I put to the build.

can some body have this problem??

Have you connected the power cables to the graphics card? Is it in the right slot eg PCIe16X? Is the monitor connected to the right output? Obviously you also have a problem with the memory but that can be sorted out afterwards. Did you check the lists to make sure it was compatible?

every thing is connected properly RAM was checked in many slots white or blue, power cables are connected to the graphic card and the motherboard. everything I checked 3 times, monitor is working fine and is plugged correctly to the graphic card.
I Thing this is problem with motherboard. I returned it to service. I will check it when it come back.
thanks for effort.

when I use everest ultimate he shows:

this is in idle mode
when I run a stress benchmark on graphic card it stops beeping and the everest shows:
12v+ : 12,49v

any ideas??

Well I have just been on the Bequiet 650 W straightpower website and used their PSU calculator and after entering all your components it came up with a minimum 750W. I must admit to being shocked by this, I would have thought that 650W would have been plenty but they should know their products. So if you want to go with that and try a bigger PSU it might fix the problem.

If not follow my next advice.

Right the only way to get to the bottom of this is to go back to the beginning. Take everything out of the case and lay the motherboard on a towel or similar that is not static producing. Attach just the CPU/heatsink/fan,buzzer and PSU to the motherboard and then try POSTing and see what beeps you get.

now i have corsair 1200 W  :D
but my motherboard under a full load ( two benchmarks running  prime 95 and furmark) is making noises like transistors on her was playing.
this happening when the RAM are set in bios to 1600 mhz
when they are on auto and they work with 1066 mhz the noises are gone.

I am happy for you that it is all working now but what to do about the noise? You may find a BIOS update will help or try disabling the C1, C3 etc power saving settings in the BIOS. Also maybe EIST. ;)

Are you sure it was a computer you bought not a synthesiser?
It sounds a lot like the big problem with the UD3R motherboard with all the noises etc. Just look for the longest running thread on the forum and that is it.

I can understand your lack of humour, ezehiel, but I don't think that it is polite to take it out on  another member who is trying to help you. ;)
