EP43-S3L Bios update F9a killed the mobo

EP43-S3L Bios update F9a killed the mobo
« on: May 13, 2009, 02:59:51 pm »
Was having a some issues with sleep mode and noticed that there were some bios updates for this.
So I figured I've done plenty of updates on previous Gigabyte boards, should be straight forward!
So I used @bios to safely locate and install the most upto date bios and once it had flashed it, it rebooted and has never worked since. :'(
Just blank screen and no post beep.
Dual bios is not working period!!!! What a crock of crap that seems to be.
You would think that if a bios was corrupt in anyway that it would recognise it and recover it by updating from the backup, but that's not the case here!
I've done all the usual reset bios via battery and cmos pins but no luck there.
Tech Support just says leave battery out and disconnect power for 5 mins or RMA the board. Way to go tech support lol  ::)

Anyone else have any suggestions or tweaks to get the other bios to kick in?

hello
i'm afraid that the only way is to RMA it, sorry :-[
i strongly do not advise using @BIOS as sometimes it may fail if your OS / CPU is not stable or having any other issue. i always use Q-Flash from BIOS setup and USB pendive with the file.
here is info how to use it:

+1 vote for QFlash, it can even flash a BIOS of a USB stick....
