Sorry Bob, I think it's time to resort to GGTS and see if they can come up with some minor miracle :-\ It would seem to be a badly written BIOS problem but with only the two options there isn't much hope at the moment. Maybe they can get on and rewrite it to fix the bug. I am just surprised that I haven't heard of anyone else complaining of the same problem.

Just popped into forun as nothing better to do and readthis thread. You have almost exactly the same symptoms as I had especially the missing ran and the rebooting problem. I got that when I rearranged the ram into different slots.
The cure was that I took out the cpu and found bent pins,
Teased them back into place with needle.
Rebuilt pc all ram was now reading ok in bios and in the correct slots. and no more problems.

I would honestly take a look, yes I know everything tells you its not that because you can read the ram with all the software tools like easy tune & CPZ but that exactly why I am answering. Its exactly the same only mt board was Rev 1.0

Dark Mantis suggested this early on for me also but that was the cure.

OK removed cooler and CPU

NO bent pins or anything untowards

Re installed CPU and cooler

Booted into FA BIOS OK

Installed BIOS Fb16 with QFlash AGAIN
Still very very Sluggish took 10 mins to boot
If I press any key on keyboard before 30-45 seconds BIOS crashes and re-starts

If i wait then boots very very very slowly

Restored to BIOS FA

Really weird Bob. I am at a loss as to the answer. I think it is going to have top be a RMA. I don't like to be beaten but you have to know when to give up. Sorry mate.

The trouble is , Bob that it really doesn't matter which company you buy from they all have their own problems. I always swore by Asus but then had a load of trouble and came over to Gigabyte.

OK I seem to have made a little step

After a tip on another forum about QFLASH i reflashed

After I reflashed I cleared the CMOS

This time a screen came up about what prfile to load " PROFILE1" was the only one or I could enter SETUP or continue to boot
I continued to BOOT and It flew through so fast to Windows load it was unbelievable.
Windows ran true aswell.
SO I turned PC off and tried to turn on again This time It was very Sluggish again.

I turned off PC again cleared CMOS again this time chose SETUP. BIOS setup came up with all options including OC options accessible.
I saved and exited.
Windows booted great and fast again.
Turned the PC off and restarted and yet again VERY VERY Sluggish 10 min boot.

Cleared the CMOS again hit f1 to continue to boot WIndows boot flew through again and here I am ??????

Does this help any in a diagnosis ??????

I wonder if it is something to do with reading the DMI before loading? You see when you clear the CMOS it clears the DMI memory and gives you a clean run. Once you have booted up the DMI is rewritten and has to be read.

Bob just humour me for a moment and unplug your mouse and keyboard and then try and boot.

AFter last post checked Gigabyte site

New FB BIOS available today

Flashed FB and same problems

After many times clearing CMOS i tried manually altering a few settings in MIT etc

I clocked it up a bit and added a few volts here and there

et voila it fecking booted up a treat TWICE !!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully that is it

It is a Profile problem.... Old profile is not being deleted and a new one made with the BIOS flash even tho settings checked in QFlash

Still having problems

every few clean boots I have major BSOD's

I have to clear CMOS and re apply my overclocks to get it to boot properly

May be time to give up and RMA the mobo

Although it may be just a settings problem I think that it is really beyond the scope of a normal user to figure out and you have tried hard. There comes a time to RMA the board and this is it I feel.
