gv-n84s-512i installed in windows 7
« on: March 12, 2010, 12:54:06 am »
Hi y'all,

I have a Gigabyte GV-N84S-512I installed in a system Windows 7 Ultimate 64, Elitegroup MOB, AMD Athlon 3.0Ghz, 4GB RAM, 1TB Western Digital HDD. Windows Experience Index show a score of 3.8 for this graphics card.
Is this score normal for this card in Windows 7? A bit low in my opinion.
Is there any tweak that I can do?

Thanks a million for any thought at all.

Not really sure what the Windows Experience rating should be for your card but it does seem a bit low to me.
What Elite mobo are you using?
Are your graphics drivers up-to-date?
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

mobo is NFORCE6M-A Rev2
Graphics driver is 8.17.11.962 (presumably latest automatic update)
Gigabyte has no update for the BIOS yet

Windows Experience Index is currently at:

Processor - 6.1
RAM - 5.5
Graphics - 3.8
Gaming Graphics - 5.2
Primary HDD - 5.9

Thanks y'all

Hi,

I also am trying to use Gigabyte GV-N84S-512I - Windows 7, Biostar 760G MB, SSD, 4 GB DDR Ram.

If I use the Graphic that is on the MB, I get a 4.4 Windows Experience Index.  However, if I use the Gigabyte Graphics, I only get a 4.0.

My performance with the Gigabyte graphics is worse by 0.4.

I am out of ideas for tweaking>

I do understand that you are only using thew Windows Experience Index as a comparison but it is so unreliable that I would advise using something more recognised as a standard. That way you can compare with other peoples' ratings online which woulkd be of more use to you.
