DO NOT USE OVERCLOCKERS U.K

They are a terrible company to deal with, their customer services is appalling and they clearly habitually send out faulty hardware.

Would you like to explain your reasons for deriding this company? This isn't a place to just fling derogatory comments around.

I take it that it was a Gigabyte product that you are complaining about. Maybe you would like to fill us in on a few more details?

No it wasn't the Gigabyte product . Just had very bad experience, especially when you have spent a lot of money.  It was not my intention to fling derogatory comments around.  Apologise for that, just wanted to make a point.

I am sure that we all understand how you feel although I think it  might have been better placed if you used the offending items forum to air your grievances but it isn't the first time I have heard this. As I say though this is not the right place for deriding the other company whether deserved or not.

I agree with you.

To be honest I have only had one problem with OCUK (touch wood) regarding some Kingston memory that wasnt being detected at the correct rate, and kept crashing my desktop whenever I played the only game I had at the time. I knew it wasnt the board as I tried some memory from my mates pc (it was the same type) and that got detected fine.

After hours of testing and RMA notes/tickets, I finally had enough and requested that I send the memory back and get a replacement. They co-operated, but I ended up with exactly the same problem with the first lot they sent out. I decided to "cut my losses" and brought a different brand of memory from a local PC shop and that worked.

I still buy from OCUK to this day. I even got a "b grade" gigabyte board for my mate as his MSI board died, and it was perfect (it still works, one year later  ;D)

I cant argue with their delivery service, and above all they also have their own forum, so if you do have a problem with OCUK, take it to their own forum (they have a hidden/private section for RMA enquires).

At the end of the day, how are they to know of "RMA service problems" if they have no feedback?

I have just read your thread there and must admit they seem to be taking a very heavy handed appproach to this incident. Even to the extent of trying to say there will be no more discussion of it on the forum. Well I have just registered with the forum and I will have a few words on there later when I have been verified.

What make/model of board was it anyway?

Gigabyte will usually take a more moderate approach to this problem and if necessary replace the socket but that is a purely one off gesture of goodwill on their behalf. Which I think is  a very fair minded way of tackling it.

I just wanted to make a point to beware in the future for those people they are shopping with this kind of company.  They don't give any good reputation to other manufacturers representing motherboard.  My original post was just to point out to the original poster of this topic.  I always had a Gigabyte product and never had a problem with it.  By the way his motherboard is on his signature.
