Yes for now just for testing purposes lay the motherboard on a piece of cardboard or something else non conductive. DONT FORGET ANTI STATIC PRECAUTIONS!

okay thats what i have done but stiil exactly the same and no beeps. for what its worth i got one of these  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150481595385&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT . dont know if they are any good but when its in the board it doesnt post anything. According to the guide 1st post should be, 00 : code copying to specific areas is done passing control to INT 19 bootloader next.
01 : processer test 1, processor status verification. Test the followingprocessor status flags     carry, zero,
                                                                            sign, overflow
It doesnt even post 00, and the card works as i tried it in another pc

Not being funny but you have installed it in a PCI slot not a PCIE haven't you? Assuming that is the case  I would say remove the card for now and try removing the memory and see what happens when you try and POST.

Well it's definitely looking like the processor is the problem. Good luck.

Hi, cpu was found to be faulty and recieved a replacement today from ebuyer. I must say Ebuyer have been absolutely spot on, paid for collection and delivery on all items and fast turnaround of replacement items. They never even charged me for the collection/delivery costs on the motherboard which they found to be OK. Anywayz CPU installed and up and running again. many thanx for the input and help from everyone

I'm glad to hear that everything turned out alright in the end. Ebuyer is very good on the returns side of things nowadays and I really can't knock the business I have done with them. When they first started they were a bit hit and miss with the returns but since then I really don't think they can be faulted.
