This monitor supports all three types of input? ie VGA, HDMI and DVI.
Does it auto switch or do you have to select the input?

From what I can tell the Integrated Graphics in the CPU is fine but a link going from it to the HDMI & DVI ports is broken...so I think you have to send the board off for a replacement.

You have ruled out all other possibility’s that I can think of.

It seems weird it was working fine, and adding a video card broke it.
Not sure where this came from? So you remove your video card and the HDMI & DVI ports start working!

No the OPs already tried that and no joy Peter. I am wondering about whether the output is ok just not being selected on the monitor but sometimes it is hard to keep people focussed ;)

No, originally the HDMI was working fine.  I added a 5670 for gaming.  I removed my 5670 so my buddy could borrow it.  Now built-in HDMI/DVI has stopped working.

@Dark Mantis

My monitor support only VGA/HDMI, but has a DVI/HDMI converter cable I think.  It auto choses the cable type and lets me m anually switch as well.  It seems to try HDMI first, then it switches to VGA because there is no signal from the HDMI.

I took the DVI/DVI cable to my gaming monitor (Samsung T260HD) and no display there either.

any other ideas?

Have you tried resetting the CMOS?

I tried and it didn't seem to take.  I even removed the battery and shorted it out on the motherboard to help drain any remaining power.  On reboot I noticed my memory was running full speed and checked the BIOS and it was still manually overclocked.  But the date/time was reset to 01/01/10 00:00:00

Maybe I'll try a longer clear cmos.  My old DFI motherboard wouldn't clear unless it sat for 10 minutes minimum.

I'll get back to you in a bit.  I'll wait at least a half hour.  I better change some setting so I know it cleared properly.

Well, it still didn't clear the cmos settings completely.  It reset the clock, and amazingly reset the driver to extended mode instead of cloned mode.  Don't know how that's even possible, but I got a blank windows logo on boot this time.  strange.

well, is there another clear cmos jumper?  I think this one clears only the clock.  All my OC settings were untouched still.

I don't see any other listed in the manual.  maybe one is hidden somewhere?

What I would suggest is to first unplug the PSU to motherboard connection both of them. Also make sure that the PSU is unplugged from the mains. Next remove the battery and then short the jumper to CLRTC or CLCMOS and leave it for 30 mins. Make sure you have removed any USB conectors also.

I already did all that.  lol

I only find one jumper.  CLR_CMOS, but it only clears the clock?

I tried also loading fail safe defaults and same results.

I left jumper on and psu unplugged for a little over a half an hour with no luck.

I will try one more time before bed and leave jumper on and psu unplugged overnight.  If that doesn't do it, I don't know what will.

When you have done it and return to the BIOS to load the optimised settings do not keep the DMI settings when asked.

I've never noticed keeping DMI settings in BIOS.  I get the option when flashing a new BIOS.

Where exactly would this option appear, so I can know to look for it.

No it will only appear when you are flashing the BIOS. I was just thinking that we were flashing it at the same time.

OK, I got a new menu as I forgot to unplug the VGA to see if HDMI would work.  I got a cmos checksum error menu and it listed 4 options.  defaults, last known good, profile 1, profile 2.  number 2 was the default option, the last known good which is why it was not seemeing to clear the BIOS as it was loading it back in.  or maybe the clear DMI during flash was doing this before?

Anyway, I think I'm just going to RMA this board.  It should have worked by now.   I'll call newegg and see if they'll let me cross ship a new one.

Thanks again for all you guys' help.

OK, I got my new board yesterday and now I still have no HDMI or DVI, but VGA works fine.  Could it be the CPU?  I thought the motherboard controlled the vga/dvi/hdmi stuff?  maybe not.
