GTX470 problem with temperature in msi afterburner

Hello.
I have a strange reading in msi afterburner:

In hwmonitor, gpu-z everything looks ok.
Does anybody have a similar problem like mine? Where is the problem?

my computer:
i5 core 750
GA-P55A-UD3
G.Skill Eco 1600 Mhz cl7
GeForce GTX470 (GV-N470D5-13I-B)
Corsair 650W

I just checked out your image and the reading you are referring to is only for an instant. It would seem to be a software blip as before and after the readings are correct. This type of thing is not uncommon and I would just say ignore it.

Hi,

Just to update on this topic to avoid forum spam.

 I did have same "problems" on my GTX470 (Card model: GV-N470D5-13I-B)  with Hardware monitor and/or  GPU-Z.
It happend during load (games). I cannot tell with full confidence which app caused the problems as I didn't  want to stress the card any further.

I've experienced temperatures rising to 101, 103 and even 105 on load - even temp of 173 degrees C has been detected in GPU-Z under max reading, while in the same time HWmonitor detected max 101 - during the parallel reading betwen those two apps.
I think that 173  was that spike that others are detecting also - possibly even fan halt.

During 3D mark test fan rpms spiked to max several times for a 2-3 sec.

After unnistaling HWmonitor and removing GPU-Z temperatures somewhat returned to normal for this types of card - 85-91

Something is wrong with those apps so all of you be careful.

I was near PC while it happend so I manage to control it a bit, but still, what worries me the most is that 173 degrees logged in GPU-Z, did I ended up with damaged card, how can I check it as I dont trust those programs anymore.
Card seems to run normally but still... 

At the end, why didnt shut down kicked in, at what temperature (if settings are on default values) should card shut down.
What to use now to monitor temps.
