Will Gigabyte repair motherboards that no longer have warranty if so will they replace a socket with bent pins.

Again if so what would the charge be. ?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

As far as I am aware Gigabyte don't do out of warranty repairs often because of the problem with sourcing parts. You could PM runn3R our Forum Admin who is a Gigabyte employee and he would be able to tell you exactly.

I joined in 2008 but thanks for the welcome.  ;D

I don't need a board repaired but you often see Gigabyte boards that E-tailers have refused RMA for having bent pins and i just wondered if Gigabyte would repair them if people pay for the repair themselfs as people are just scrapping the boards which is a shame for the sake of soldering in a new CPU socket.

Sorry for the mistake I just didn't recognise your user name, anyway what's the harm in being friendly? ;)

The bent pin problem is not only a Gigabyte one it affects all socketed Intel boards and other makes also have the headache. Just bad design really.
I agree with the prognosis though and it seems to be a shame to ditch otherwise good boards for the sake of a socket. Often the pins can be "straightened" back into shape anyway.
