GA-P43-ES3G & F14 BIOS

Hi

I recently updated the bios to the latest f14 for my motherboard p43 es3g and now i am having troubles running my ram at 1066,my system will just not boot at all.It just freezes at the gigabyte screen.
If i set the ram to 800 it will boot fine and load into windows fine.
Had no troubles whatsoever with the f13 bios.
Have tried ram voltages of 1.9 to 2.2 and no luck.

The ram is kingston hyperx 1066 2 x 2gig.

Is there a problem with that bios ?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.

I would say it is one of two things. Either the memory is not compatible with the motherboard or the memory is faulty(at least at that speed).

Firstly check the Gigabyte QVL and see if the exact modules are listed, if not check the Kingston website and see if they list the  motherboard as compatible with that particular RAM.

Secondly download and run Memtest86+ on each stick seperately for at least 10 loops. If you get any errors the memory is faulty.

The Memory was working fine with the f13 bios so compatability wouldnt be an issue would it ? i'm not sure.
I will try  memtest and post back.

No reason for updating the bios,i was always under the impression you should always have your bios up to date.
Begining to wish i hadnt now

Is there anyway to revert back to the f13 bios ?

Yes no problem to reflash the BIOS back to the older version. Make sure that you use QFlash though not @BIOS. It is a common misconception that you must be running the latest BIOS version. As long as it's working alright and you are not missing any features then there is no point in updating.
