Help with MA790FX-DS5 sound
« on: October 14, 2010, 10:49:13 am »
Hi seem to be having a little trouble with the MA790FX-DS5 i had windows xp installed and was using the normal rear sound jacks when one day i never had any sound at all, I realised that if i plugged it in to the grey socket started working again however now that one has stopped working also and now none of them work. I even bought a copy of win 7 ultimate as i thought it might be software i have reinstalled drives all sorts of versions made sure devices were regonised but just no sound.

I have found out when you plug the jack in to the gey or orange the jack sense pops up under the application but still no sound tried headphones, 5.1,7.1 nothing at all, I have even tried with the front audio jacks and they dont sense either, tired differant speakers and know there working just do not get it, the motherboard has had a very easy life and not much work at all only thing its point to that i can think of is kerput

even tried 4 different bios versions

Any ideas at all

thank you

kev

Just rang the supplier and they said it has a 2yr warranty very lucky as i bought it 17/10/2008

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

That's good news anyway so you can get it replaced as it does sound faulty. Actually Gigabyte guarrantee their products for 3 years from the date of manufacture(some even longer) so you always have a saftey net. ;)
