Gigabyte MA-GA570SLI S4

Hi all i have a problem when trying to use the lan i have all the latest drivers bios FFh ect but i can not get the lan to work. i have done the lan test in the bois and it shows a short on two of the connections. I have changed the cables ect even shows a short with my xbox 360 connected with the cable that came with it. i have tested everything on my laptop xbox ect and they all work fine. hope someone can help Regards Anthony :-\

Have you got a gigabit switch as this would be a good indication if you connect at 1Gbps then its the test your doing isn't reliable.

Hi thaks for the fast reply. No i dont have one. The lan seems to be sending data but receiving any regards Anthony

Could well be a damaged ethernet port, do any of the pins look bent/damaged on the port itself?

what is the distance shown there for this short circuit ?

Could well be a damaged ethernet port, do any of the pins look bent/damaged on the port itself?

or it maybe short circuit by the metal of the chassis, maybe try to test without the MB LAN the chassis ?

Hi,
Have you checked that the tang of the earthing strap on the backplate is NOT trapped in the lan socket, it can, if not careful get trapped when installing motherboard into case on build, ::)
Or could be a faulty lan socket as previously suggested,
