Dreaded 5850 no POST with some twist to it

Have you tried clearing the CMOS and then loading Optimised BIOS defaults?

Yes i did...

Again, I rolled back to the old drivers, put 2 graphic cards next to eachother, the old one (working) in the primary slot, the other one in the secondary slot and still nothing. Furthermore, now it won't detect the secondary (problematic 5850) card at all...
Also, tried it again, just shoving the 5850 as a standalone, and surprise surprise! The same... blank screen, no post, no beeps...
I'm freakin clueless on this one...

It sounds to me like your motherboard has given up. I am not suprised that nothing happened with two GPUs installed the power drain would have been just too much for your PSU to take.

I got the same PSU as you do. You mean 850W not enough? They say it can handle a triple way SLI, I mean the PSU.

Sorry I had you mixed up with someone else I am helping. I still don't think it would handle a triple SLI setup though.

This is a very strange issue... I am not even sure that it is the GPUs causing it. Have you got any RAM and a spare CPU to test in the motherboard? Drivers cannot affect POST because they aren't loaded until the OS loads. It is unlikely to be the GPU BIOS either considering it works in another setup. That would leave the Motherboard, RAM and CPU as the PSU was already replaced.

Already started looking for new parts... CPU + Mobo + Ram, unless someone of you guys still has somekinda idea on how to solve it and help me save them 600 quid...

OK well if we are going for shots in the dark I can think of a couple.

First check the GPU slot for any physical damage inside the actual slot.

Secondly especially if it has been running a big cooler or fans off the motherboard headers make sure that the power lines on the motherboard are still intact as it's not uncommon for them to burn out through overloading.
