GA-X58A-UD9 Issue with RAID 0 and F4 Bios
« on: November 01, 2010, 02:13:56 am »
Ok I had a coupel of OCZ vertex 2 ssd in Raid 0 when I starting my current project.
I then noticed that the bios was not addressing the 12GB of memory.
So I did a firmware update to F4.

I now can't reconfigure th RAID settings.
What occurs now is 50% of my bios post messages shows OCZ the other 50% show Marvell RAID 0. :'(

To overcome this for now I've rebuilt OS on single disk.
But my quesiton is how do I fix this. I have tried to use the clr cmos button my next step is to pull the battery altogether.

I'm open to sugestions .

Cheers

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I take it from your post that you are trying to run the two SSDs in RAID0 on the Marvell controlled ports. If so that is where your problem lies. The Marvell 9128 SATA3 chip doesn't live up to expectations and will fall over if too much data is tried to be pushed through it at once. You would be better off locating the SSDs on the Intel ICH10R southbridge controlled ports and would probably find that your speed would actually increase even though they are only SATA2 rated.
