Official GIGABYTE Forum

I bought a new GTX 460, but have a missing free game code, please advise.

Hi, i'm a long time reader first time poster and have bought many Gigabyte products over the years, and am really enjoying my new graphics card.

However it states on my receipt that it should include a promotional code for a free copy/download of H.A.W.X. 2, but I did not have the code in the box nor was I emailed the code.

I ordered the card with my mother and bought the card from ebuyer, and they have stated that they cannot do anything about it.

I tried looking for an appropriate support line to call or email from gigabyte, but they only had technical  support which is not the right section for this type of query.

Can anyone advise me on who/how to contact?

I have screen grabbed my proof of purchase/receipt (personal details removed for security reasons, but I can forward the orginal to a proper gigabyte email if I could find one to proove, and can also send the serial number etc....):

I'd be very greatful if a member of the Gigabyte team or anyone can help.

Hi there,
try sending a PM to runn3R the forum moderator. He should be able to help.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I had a reply from runn3R yesterday and have now emailed him the gpu details and receipt ,as requested, and awaiting reply.

If he cannot get anywhere I will have to take this back to ebuyer (whom I usually have no problems with) or gigabyte customer service and possibly the office of fair trade as the goods are obviuosly not as described.

He's been in contact with me, and gigabyte are looking into it, so hopefully it'lll be resolved soon.
I have tried ebuyer again, but they don't seem to want to do anyting, so I'll just wait to see what gigabyte has to say now :)

I am suprised at Ebuyer though because of all my dealings with them in the past they have been brilliant and only too quick to help. :-\

I'm a little suprised with them as I have used them for many years since I started building my own systems with hardly any issues, it's few and far between that I ever have a problem with them. Even knowing that I have proof they don't seem to want to do anything.

I'm in discusion with runn3R though, and it's being checked with gigabyte, so if they can't do anything I'll be bringing in the office of fair trade with ebuyer as the product is not complete without having the voucher which is stated.

I'm sure it'll work out with either gigabyte or ebuyer in the end, I have tried ebuyer a couple of time's which is why I had to seek out advice here. At least it's being looked at now.

The vouchers for the game are automatically added by Ebuyer (not Gigabyte) to the order when a customer purchases a qualifying card (unless they placed the order before the promo began).

Customer support team of Ebuyer will contact nero to solve this issue
ZX-S & C64 are still my favourites ;-)

I have sent you a pm with the additional required information.

I am now currently awaiting mail from Ebuyer and will update the thread with the outcome, and weather or not I have had to turn the case to the office of fair trade.
I doubt I will have to do take this course of action, as ebuyer are usually very good and have been for most of our purchases.

Well it seems that Ebuyer are taking their time over this one, so if we haven't heard anything by the end of today, since my mother couldn't get anywhere I'll be getting on the phone to them and requesting an RMA on the basis that the goods were not as advertised.
Failing that they will have the office of fair trade to deal with, and We'll (for the first time from ebuyer) be taking our buisness elseware, as the service on their part is deemed unacceptable.

Sorry to be blunt about it, but when I have paid for something I expect to get exactly that, the goods as described, and not be messed about by the aftersales team.

Whilst I agree with you regarding the getting what you paid for part I think that the probable cause of Ebuyer dragging the ir heels is that as with any software they want to make sure that it hasn't been registered/used before agreeing to a replacement. This type of thing is open to abuse and even though I am sure your claim is valid there must be many times where this is not the case.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Anyone could claim that they didn't recieve their voucher, which is not the case with me I can assure you. I wonder if there is a way that I can prove it?
I have an ubisoft account so I guess they could check with them, but I doubt it under identity protection.

We'll just see how it goe's I guess.

Maybe it would help if you approached Ebyer and said that you understand the position and is there any way you could help verify the situation. If nothing else it shows good faith.

My mother and myself have both tried getting email responses and heard absolutly nothing, and also tried phoneing them (at 10p per minute) to explain and quite simply they don't appear to care.

I for one cannot believe it as their customer services are usually second to none.

We will be taking the case to the office of fair trade as the goods are not as advertised so they will either supply us with what else was stated part of the order, or they will need to supply an RMA for a full refund as the goods supplied did not match that which was advertised.

In the mean time I'll keep any part spending to Scan computers whom I have yet to have a problem with, as ebuyer's non compliance is unacceptable when it clearly states that the code is to come with the card.
