Way to go. :D
Maybe I should look at putting a RAID10 Array together!  :P
But with the cost of getting enough Hard drives to make such an array I think I would probably go for an SSD for the increased speed, which is all I would be after, as it would use less power.  ;)

You gotta love Microsoft for capping the WEI to 5.9 for regular drives and only let people get higher scores with SSD.  Good marketing fore planning I guess. :)

You would have thought that Bill would have brought out his own version of an SSD and made it so that it would register 9.9 on the WEI  ;)

Maybe I should look at putting a RAID10 Array together!  :P

What's really intriguing to me is that they seem to be just a tad better than the SATA3 RAID0 scores you reported earlier.  And, SATA3/USB3 were two of the main filters that led me to this board.  So I wonder, if there are any devices out there that can even begin to take advantage of that pipe, yet.  Or even exceed the SATA2 capacity.  Do SSDs actually score that much higher?  (I did try a RAID0 array, as reported in that other thread, before moving them all to RAID10, and it did score about 5-10% higher still.)

I was thinking of picking up a new USB3 external enclosure, and the above has me questioning if that'll be a bit of a marketing mirage as well.

But with the cost of getting enough Hard drives to make such an array I think I would probably go for an SSD for the increased speed, which is all I would be after, as it would use less power.  ;)

Well, you already have two, right?  Just need two more.  But, like I said, my scores dropped just a bit, going from RAID0 to RAID10.  My primary goals were capacity and redundancy.  Speed was bonus.

I got my four (Samsung F3 HD103SJ) for $54 ea, which puts them at just about the cost of a nice sized boot SSD.  So now I have 2TB of redundant storage for photos and music, that just happens to scream.   :D

We haven't had a lot of feedback on hte USB3 front on the forum yet but the few we have had seem to support the fact that it does provide  a serious boost but not the full 10x USB2.

When you put it like that it is appealing.

Good to hear on the USB3.

First time with RAID10, and although the thought of all those drives was daunting initially, it seems like a pretty nice setup!
