GA-Z77X-UD5H Possible BIOS issue
« on: May 28, 2013, 12:35:24 pm »
OK, got one of these and it's GREAT!
I do have a need for another RAID card to support an external JBOD so I got a SIL based 3124.
Seems that during the POST, the SIL card cannot be seen if the Marvel onboard disk controller is also setup as RAID mode within the BIOS.
If you change the Marvel controller in BIOS to AHCI, then presto, the SIL 3124 card will display in POST.

Either way, with the Marvel controller in either RAID or AHCI, the connected SIL card can be seen by the Windows 7 OS without issue.
The problem is, I need to be able to get into the SIL controller during post to configure its onboard devices.

Any thoughts or suggestions here?

bios shawdow memory doesn't have enough space to show 2 or 3 raid rom at the same time.
so you can try change marvel controller to ahci and get the SLI 3124 to display and configure it.
after configuration of SLI, you go back to bios to change marvel ACHI mode to raid...
