EasyTune6: Smart Fan below 10% ?
« on: November 17, 2010, 11:10:21 pm »
Hi eveyone,

I'm interested to know if it's possible to set the fan speed under 10%. My cpu fan (Cooler Master 212+) turn at 750rpm at 10% and it's a bit too high regarding the noise level.

With the software SpeedFan I can drop the speed as low as 200 rpm. I prefer Easytune6 because it's user friendly. :)

You should be able to, are you trying it now and can't or just asking to find out?

If you are trying and it wont, what is happening and how are you trying?   If you are manually grabbing the slider and it will only go as low as a certain point, and then zero, please try clicking the little black arrow instead of dragging the slider

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

What I don't understand is why your fan is spinning at 750rpm at a 10% setting. That would equate to 7500rpm at a 100% setting and I am sure that is not right. It would almost take off! :-\

Thanks for your replies.

You have a good point Dark Mantis.

With Speed Fan 4.41 i have 266rpm at 35%. My fan can't go over 2000rpm.

Is it purely a case of misrepresentation of the actual speed and if so does it happen in a linear fashion?
It would seem to be just a software issue not that it helps if you are relying on it.
