Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte UK Forum.

Weird isn't it? So the card works in other systems but not the Dell and the other card works in the Dell and is the same  basically. I can only suggest removing the drivers and then re-installing them and make sure the card is seated firmly in the slot. Which was the original card in the computer?

I can't see how it can be a hardware issue from your description so that only leaves the drivers etc. Are you trying to use the same drivers for both cards? And if so what drivers are they?

Just a thought but could you need a BIOS update from Dell to run this graphics card?
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I have tried the original driver that came up with this card and also the latest driver 260 version but did not help.

You don't need a BIOS update to support a card...

Why not keep the XFX in there and put the GIBAYTE card where that one came from?
Are these cards identical, as in same PCB and clock speeds?

What do you mean by not working? Do you get any output to screen, like until Windows loads or do you not even see the POST screen?
Have you tried a different output on the card, or another cable?

The gigabyte one is far more better than the xfx one as it has higher clock rates and i get about 8 fps less in FSX so i prefer the gigabyte. I dont get any output screen when i put in the card not even the system boot up menu. I have tried both VGA and DVI cabled but it wont work.

Also i would like to add is that my LCD screen is a 21.5" full hd ( 1920x1080 ) HP L2151ws so resulution should not be a problem.

Sometimes there is a compatibility issue with some screens and there doesn't seem to be any particular reason for this. It is possible that you are suffering from this issue now. I would suggest that you try a different screen if you can.

I have just been helping another member with a similar problem and theirs was a basic incompatibility with the Dell system.

Well that's what fooled me to start with but the OP does mention near the end that they are quite different cards even though they sound the same.
