need help!!

hi just got my hands on h55m-d2h mobo with an i5 760 cpu and i have a prob with the mobo, when i put my video card in the pcie x 16 slot and turn my comp on it shuts down after a sec and tries again, i switched the card to a pcie x4 slot and it works the comp turns on (but i have no ram yet so nothing realy happens it just works with no boot ) so im guessing it's a problem with the pcie slot itself, so can i repair it somehow? and what will happen if i use the pcie x4 (it's a geforce 250 gts 1gb card), i have another mobo also gigabyte but a bit older also s2 so can i somehow safley switch the pcie slots from the old mobo to the new one? but i prefer an easier solution please help!.

Have  you checked to see if the BIOS installed on your motherboard supports the CPU you have installed?

well the socket does 1156,how do i check it?, and what does it have to do with the pcie? like why does the x4 works and the x16 doesnt?

What revision motherboard is it?

The motherboard needs to be running the F3 version which is fairly likely by the looks of things.

Have you got a buzzer installed?

whats a buzzer and what does it have to do with my problem? and btw i got the video card to run like 2 times when i tried then when i restarted the same thing happens the comp tries to run then shuts off and tries again

Well a buzzer would give us fault finding beeps when you started up which would help locate any problem. I would suggest getting hold of one. They are very cheap. It might just be that you haven't got any memory installed yet.

Yes highly likely. Computers need memory to run and are not very good without it.

I am suprised you got any picture at all without any memory installed.

no mate no picture, thats coze of the ram i understand,it just runs you know all of the vents are working and stuff,the only problem is when the the VC is in the x16 slot it runs for a sec and shuts down then tries again and the same thing happens

I would definitely advise you to get a buzzer and some RAM!

i have some speaker that goes on the mobo small with 2 wires connects near the pwr/rst pins is that it?

Yes that's it. If its a small black device make sure that you connect it the correct way round.
