Power Connectors on the GA-MA790XT-UD4P
« on: July 30, 2009, 11:19:19 am »
Hi,

I havent built a machine in ages and it seems im now out of touch :P  My new Mobo has an 8pin power( ATX 12v 2x4)  socket and the 24pin, My PSU has a 24pin plug and a single 4pin 12v.  Do i need to add another 12v to fill the 8pin?

Incidentally its for a 3.2 Quad Phenom II

Thanks

Does your PSU not have an 8pin connector? If not you can use the 4pin on the 8pin motherboard. But if you have an 8pin connector on your PSU, use it as the 8pin is better for quads and overclocking :)
