Well not very helpful situation really. But at least you now know it is not a problem with the Gigabyte motherboard per se. Have you tried on the Vix tuner cards forum form help?

I think that you should  go back to GGTS and explain to them in no uncertain terms that there is no updated firmware for the graphics card and it is up to them to sort it out.

Yah but it is still a Gigabyte card that is causing the issue though. I looked for a Vixs forum, but there is not one. It is not really a well known card. It is more of an OEM card. I just sent out another e-mail to tech support updating them on my new finds. Hopefully they will have some insight on what is going on.

Have you tried any other pci-e devices like a NIC or sound card. I believe the tuner card is the problem.

Thanks for taking time to test, contact the TV card manufacure for warranty service.

Best regards,

Gigabyte technical support team.

Ok so they were no help again. There is nothing wrong with the tuner card or they wouldn't work when the GTS 250 is in.

That was rather obvious but I often wonder if the either don't read or don't understand a lot of what is passed to them. :-\

Ok I e-mailed them back explaining that I thought it was the card that was causing this issue. Unfortunately they still are not much help on this. I don't think there is anything wrong with the physical hardware personally. It seems to me it is more likely a freak software conflict. I don't think replacing the card is going to fix anything.

Ok I just finally made a breakthrough! I pulled out an old HDD and installed a new copy of Windows. Now on this copy I have both the Asus Vixs tuner cards and the video card working! I let Windows 7 install the driver automatically and it is using an older version. Now I just need to figure out why it is not working in the other installation. I am guessing it is because the new installation of Windows is using an older driver for the card. Maybe the new driver is causing the problem. So now I am going to go back to my SSD drive and roll back the driver and see what happens.

Sounds like you are finally getting somewhere now. It could also have been a Windows update that is causing the problem.

You are right there. The cards disappear when this update is applied. ---> Accusys Inc. - Storage - ACS-6xxxx

Looks like we finally solved this one! Thanks for all the help Dark!
