« on: December 19, 2010, 08:51:27 pm »

If i extend desktops with my monitor (benq e2200hd) and tv (samsung le46a656) it works fine for few minutes. After that it starts to blank tv screen and stops audio too. Picture comes back and movie goes on.. Such a ***** problem really! Any suggestions? I've tried different mboard, different cables etc..

GV-N460OC-1GI
corsair hx650W psu
and creative x-fi titanium gaming soundcard
abit ip35-e motherboard with latest bios (2008) :) i bricked my last motherboard with biosflash i thought that it would help but guess no

even if i disable creative soundcard picture is still blinking etc. help me plz so i can watch movies! :)

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

You dont say what case you have this installed in or what tempertures you are getting but it would sound to me like it was possibly temperature related.

What resolution are you trying to run when you have the problem.

my case is fractal design define R2 with 6 case fans and idle temp is something like 40c with gpu-z dont know exactly temps since it works nice with my benq monitor :)

And using native 1920x1080p with 60hz in tv.. both screens running natives

I don't have access to one of these graphics cards for testing purposes so I am purely guessing here. It could be an problem with the display not syncing with the output from the card properly. Can you check on the TV input settings and see if there is anything that might be manipulated.

The other thing I have just thought of is maybe it is something to do with the copyright protection. I am afraid this really isn't my field but hopefully it has given you something to go on.

it works how it should work with 1080i but image is kinda slow with 30hz, and im sure its not with the copyrights since trying to watch bought dvd or youtube videos or anything it starts blinking..

The thing is 1080i is only half the rate of 1080p as the i stands for interlaced and the p for progressive so you would need to send twice as much data to update the picture of the 1080p than the 1080i as it will only update every other scan.

HDCP stands for Highbandwidth Digital Content Protection and is what I suggested a couple of posts ago but you dismissed it.

I believe that HDCP only effects the HDMI output not the others. Let us know what happens today please.

and sorry for spam but last 10mins with setup like Benq monitor in mini hdmi and tv is connected with dvi - hdmi cable.

Controlcenter says still that samsung tv doesnt support hdcp BUT video + sound works great.. So is the problem now in card or not? Im going to buy a long dvi - hdmi cable so my system works 100% for then no needs for rma :)

Sounds like a good way to go. Confusing, all this stuff though isn't it? As I explained at the outset it is not really my field but we learn as we go along.
