890FXA-UD5 and "loading operating system"

Hi mates, I have one question.

Sometimes there is half second or 1 second delay on "loading operating system" message:

- "loading operating system" appears.
- sometimes 1/2 or 1 second delay.
- blinking cursor appears underneath "l.o.s." message, and then Windows 7 starts to load.

Can you tell me if you have sometimes this delay?

I'm running the GA-890FXA-UD5 (rev 2.1) and what you are describing seems pretty normal.

The amount of time the message will show will depend on your CPU, RAM and choice of OS Hard drive.

But problem is that this message sometimes goes away pretty fast, and other times it takes 1 second or so...

The other day i had to reboot 30 or 40 times my PC (from Windows button) and format 6 or 7 times, cause of a drivers. This could harm my motherboard?

Are you saying that the loading Windows line stays and doesn't move on from there and you have to reboot?

Hi there,

If you are rebooting and reinstalling Windows because of install problems with drivers or other things the biggest problem is really going to be with your Hard-drive rather than the motherboard.

I reboot plenty of times during a day, especially when I am testing new hardware and I have never had a motherboard fail because of this.

The message is nothing to worry about as long as it goes passed it and the OS loads.

The quuestion about the damage to the motherboard is not really a problem if it doesn't keep happening but you might find that you will get corrupted Windows files on your hard drive.

But why sometimes that message has 1 second delay? I thinks it's not normal. My fear is that in a future it may give me errors or more delay.

absic, if you have this mobo, can you see rebooting 2 or 3 times if you have sometimes that delay?

just gone through 5 reboot cycles and each one had a slightly different delay from showing the LOS line and then moving on, so I would say it is pretty normal and nothing to worry about.

Thanks dude. My two scenarios are:

-LOS line and immediately the underneath cursor and moving on.
-LOS line, half second delay, underneath cursor and moving on.

This is same for you?

Yes, i noticed that longer delay on moving on after install a windows update.

What an awesome tutorial you made on that link! If i had seen it 2 weeks ago, I'd have saved 40 € for assembly hehe

Tomorrow I'm going to buy a SSD, should I make some changes in BIOS to install it? (i have SATA on ahci)

PD: on my mobo rev 2.0, on the first screen when you power on PC, it doesn't appear info of my HDD's, optical drive, etc, like in your tutorial. Ihave F5 installed.

Did you test it???

I think that option is to set the time that will be displayed the "safe mode screen" when windows closes itself bad way.

test it, if you see any abnormal behavior, then just put it back like it was...

besides, you have a few post over here saying that is normal, as for me, I had the same symptom, is quite normal...
