First, you need 64-bit operating system for 8GB of RAM.
I have Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3 and my motherboard looks like this.
http://www.gigabyte.com/fileupload/product/2/2633/800.jpg
Picture difference bitween this or other rev is text typed on board down-left.
I know that my board isn't last version of DS3

I have  2x 4GB DDR3 - KINGSTON DDR3 HYPERX BLU 1600MHZ CL9 - KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX
Works perfect on 1333MHz
You have to buy 1600MHz because of voltage.
You can see my post on second page of this thread with pictures.

Comp works pefrect, I charged all 8GB of RAM to test it, it works perfect :)

Sve najbolje :)

Hi Shockwave_X,

I got nearly the same set of RAM than you :
KHX1600C9D3K4_16GX 4x4Go CL9 made for 1600Mhz.

Plan was to use 2 of them to get 8Go, running at 1333Mhz or even less but unfortunately my system doesn't boot with this new memory :(

What setting did you use in your BIOS or is there something else we should be aware of ?

thx

Hi Loner,

For 8 GB RAM you must have 64bit operating system, you must remove DDR2 from slots (put only DDR3). Reset clocks if you done some overclocking.

Answer me,

Hi!

One more signing up on the list with a DS3R rev 2.1 now running on 2x4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz.  ;D

Thx to all for the info in this thread  :)

I got o tip from another guy with the same board as me, and they seems to work for me too :)
G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4Gb F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL - DDR3 1333Mhz

I havent done any more test yet, but as the pictures shows it looks fine...
EDIT: Running Memtest86+, right now. Update later...

I guess it`s my unclocked CPU with standard FSB 1066 that`s stoping my memory from running 1333Mhz.

What CPU do you have ?

I can now report that when I overclock my CPU, and change the CPU Host freqency from 266x9 to 333x9, 2.4Ghz to 3.0Ghz, as in video below, change DDR voltage to +0.1volt/1.6volt, change memorytiming to 9-9-9-24, they are running in 1333Mhz as they should :)

Hi,

Just bought 2x 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz memory from Kingston.
Plugged in and rebooted with default (i.e. auto) settings in BIOS. Works!

same as u.but i put with the G.Skill Ripjaws 2x2Gb F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL - DDR3 1333Mhz only.
(just for game, not 3d renderer). it can run my E8400 @ 4.050ghz easily (sory for my bad english)

Hey guys!

I'm very happy because today I installed this 8GB kit from Crucial and it works!

http://www.crucial.com/eu/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=BLE2CP4G3D1608DE1TX0CEU

I use the GA-P35C-DSR3 Rev. 2.0, with the latest BIOS F12.

Big thanks to this forum for your help in preparing me right for this upgrade  :)

Old tread, i know, but i cant find anywhere if this board would work with 16GB of DDR3. I have 8GB (4 x 2GB) and am thinking of upgrading RAM for it.

This box works superbly otherwise for over 5 years now (iirc) and paired with SSD i have no problems running multiple test environments in virtualization, so why not put a bit more ram into it if i can.

If anyone has any further info on this ancient topic, i would appreciate it. I also asked gigabyte support, and waiting for answer, but somehow i don't expect that they know about this board at Gigabyte with relation to such "strange" request and am expecting to get a generic "not supported" answer.

Cheers.

Yup, generic answer from Gigabyte (max 8GB). Anyone has any more experience with this?
