lost hard drive

Hi another problem I just formatted my hard drive and installed everything, but when i pluged in my spare hard drive it installs the drivers and says all is working ok but when i look for it in my computer where it used to show up there is no sign of it. It is a Hitachi Deskstar.

Hi Cookiebun,

If you open the Control Panel and click on the System and Security heading then look for the heading Administrative Tools then click on Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions see image
 
it will open the Disk Manager feature.

In Disk Manager you should find your hard drive. 


You might need to Mark Partition as Active or Format the drive before the OS can see it.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

When I right click I get convert to dynamic disc, convert to GPT disc or New simple volume

Hi

You need New Simple Volume but, if you have any files on the drive they will be lost as the drive will be reformatted.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
